Consortium agreement for Pell Grant and federal loans

Consortium agreements enable ASU degree-seeking students to participate in financial aid programs while concurrently attending ASU and another accredited higher education institution. ASU reserves the right to not enter into a consortium agreement if, in the opinion of ASU's Financial Aid and Scholarship Services, that consortium agreement would be administratively prohibitive. Consortium agreements assist in receiving additional financial aid, not for the deferment of loans.

You must enroll in at least half-time credits (6 credits undergraduate; 5 credits graduate) at ASU for the semester in question. Students in the ASU Nursing CEP (Concurrent Enrollment Program) with Arizona community colleges, University of Mary, and Mayo Clinic students require enrollment in at least one ASU course. If you attend ASU Online through our partnerships with Starbucks, Uber or Aramark, we will not enter into a consortium agreement with the exception of Nursing CEP students. ASU Law students do not require enrollment in any ASU credits but must have the course placeholder on their schedule.

Starting with the 2024-2025 academic year, the enrollment intensity of a student attending more than one school under a consortium agreement is based on all the courses taken that apply to the degree or certificate at the home school, ASU, when a student is awarded Pell Grant. Therefore, if the coursework at the other school is measured in different units ASU may have to convert units to ensure the accurate enrollment is awarded.

Once your consortium agreement has been approved, an official transcript from the other institution will need to be received within 20 days of the end of the term from the other institution. Failure to do so may have an impact on your financial aid awards and create a bill on your ASU account.

Any communications for the consortium agreement process will be sent to your ASU email address.
